SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – Plenary has been crowned Sponsor/Developer of the Year, and two Plenary projects have been awarded silver medals at the inaugural PPP Awards.

The Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre won the silver award for Best Operational Project, and the Toowoomba Second Range Crossing the silver award for Best Transport Project.

Run by international publication Partnerships Bulletin, the awards recognise and reward outstanding achievement in public-private partnerships across Asia Pacific. The winners were presented at a ceremony in Sydney overnight, attended by more than 250 industry representatives.

It has been a year of global recognition for Plenary, having also won Sponsor/Developer of the Year at the 2017 Partnerships Awards and the 2017 P3 Awards, and Asia Pacific and North America Developer of the Year at the 2016 Infrastructure Investor Awards.

Plenary Head of Origination Paul Crowe said after another year of success Plenary has now grown its PPP portfolio to 13 projects in Australia and 29 in North America, with a combined total project capitalisation of $30 billion.

“Looking ahead, we have been named preferred respondent for the $1.8 billion Western Roads Upgrade project in Melbourne and the long-term care facility in Corner Brook, Newfoundland, and are working to achieve financial close on both of those by the end of the year,” Mr Crowe said.

“We are excited about the upcoming pipeline of projects thanks to strong government planning in the region, and hope to continue our success as further project opportunities arise.”

The recognition continues for VCCC having already been awarded the Victorian Architecture Medal and the William Wardell Award for Public Architecture at the 2017 Victorian Architecture Awards, and the 2017 National Infrastructure Award for Government Partnership Excellence.

This PPP Award also adds to the recognition received for the still-under-construction Toowoomba Second Range Crossing’s accolades to date including Best Road Project at the 2016 Partnerships Awards, Road Deal of the Year at the 2015 PFI Awards and Asia Pacific Deal of the Year at the 2015 IJGlobal Awards.
