Hat-trick of infrastructure awards for Plenary

NORTH AMERICA and AUSTRALIA - Plenary has received international acclaim, being awarded three awards at the Infrastructure Investor Awards 2016 announced this month.

The company was awarded North America Developer of the Year, Asia Pacific Developer of the Year and Asia Pacific PPP Deal of the Year for the High Capacity Metro Trains project.

Plenary Chairman John O’Rourke said the peer-voted awards were great industry recognition of the company’s continued success.

"The strong growth of our business in Australia, Canada and the US has consolidated our position as a leading investor, developer and manager of public infrastructure," Mr O’Rourke said.

“One of the highlights of the year was the Victorian Government’s $2 billion High Capacity Metro Trains project where we introduced a new entrant into the local market, stimulating significant local investment, and creating 1,100 highly-skilled local jobs.

“Achieving more than 60 per cent local content, and at a cost that is nearly 40 per cent below the government’s benchmark are just two of the highlights of this project – the largest order of rolling stock in Victoria’s history.”

The awards come at the same time as two further international accolades awarded to Plenary in March - North American Social Infrastructure Deal of the Year for the UC Merced 2020 project, and North American P3 Bond Deal of the Year for the Long Beach Civic Centre Redevelopment project - at the 2016 IJGlobal Awards held in New York.

Plenary has a portfolio of 42 PPP projects across Asia Pacific and North America and a total project capitalisation of some $30 billion.
