VANCOUVER, BC – Plenary Group has continued its recent winning streak collecting two further industry awards at the Infrastructure Journal Global (IJGlobal) Awards.

Plenary Group’s $583 million Waterloo Light Rapid Transit Project in Canada won North American PPP Deal of the Year.

The $3.7 billion North West Rail Link Operations, Trains and Systems (OTS) PPP in Sydney received the Asia-Pacific Transport Award.

On winning the award for the Waterloo Light Rapid Transit Project, Plenary Group North America President Paul Dunstan said: “It’s fantastic to receive third-party recognition for our ability to close complex transport P3s.”

“Importantly, it further cements Plenary Group’s position a global player in this growing sector for P3 procurement and delivery.”

Plenary Group Australia Managing Director, Paul Oppenheim, was pleased to add the IJGlobal award to what is a growing list of awards for the North West Rail Link PPP.

“Closing this project was a significant achievement for Plenary Group as financial sponsor, equity investor and capital arranger,” said Mr Oppenheim. “Significantly, this deal marked Plenary’s largest ever single transaction.”

Mr Oppenheim said the North West Rail Link OTS PPP, which is being delivered by the Northwest Rapid Transit consortium, was the largest of three delivery contracts awarded by Transport for New South Wales and was the largest in the State’s history.

In three short years, Plenary Group has achieved an exponential growth in its global civil portfolio with eight road and transport projects on its books worth some $8 billion.

Plenary Group was also the biggest winner at the recent Infrastructure Investors Awards where it picked up four awards including Global Developer of the Year and Global Deal of the Year for the North West Rail Link PPP.
