Published 20 May 2016 International recognition for Toowoomba Second Range Crossing

LONDON, ENGLAND – The Toowoomba Second Range Crossing (TSRC) project has been named the Partnership Awards Best Road Project of the Year at a ceremony in London last week.

The awards recognise the best in public private partnerships globally and saw TSRC beat three other international projects for the title.

Plenary Group is the financial advisor and investor on the $1.6 billion project, part of the Nexus Infrastructure consortium chosen to finance, construct, operate and maintain the project.

Plenary Group Managing Director Paul Oppenheim said this award is an exciting achievement for the Nexus consortium.

“This is the third major award the project has received so far, and to receive recognition on the global stage is a credit to the team,” Mr Oppenheim said.

The project is currently under construction with major works kicking off earlier this year.

The 41-kilometre Toowoomba Second Range Crossing has been jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland Governments and is the Australian Government’s largest commitment to a single road project in Queensland.

Construction is expected to be completed at the end of 2018, with Nexus Infrastructure contracted to maintain the project for 25-years.
